Our Story

Two Brothers.
One Mission.

Learn how CITA was founded and the vision behind our academy.

How It Started

From Passion to Academy

Caracas, Venezuela

Where It All Began

Brothers Ignacio and Diego Carnevali pick up their first rackets. What starts as practice at home quickly becomes competitive play in summer camps, local tournaments, and national-level competition under the Venezuelan Tennis Federation.

Miami, USA

A New Chapter

After relocating to the United States, the brothers train with international coaches, including professionals from Madrid Tennis Academy, and begin competing in USTA tournaments.

High School & Beyond

Finding Their Calling

As team captains and #1 players at International Studies Charter High School, Diego earned Athlete of the Year and Ignacio earned Rookie of the Year plus multiple MVP awards. It was here they began coaching together and discovered their passion for developing players, a path they'd pursue for over five years, coaching every level from red ball beginners to high-performance competitors.

Today

Building CITA

Now, the brothers channel their combined competitive and coaching experience into CITA, a professional academy where tennis is the tool for developing complete individuals prepared for competition, academics, and life.

From Players to Coaches

The Journey Continues

Following their competitive careers, Ignacio and Diego transitioned into coaching, gaining over five years of experience developing players of all levels, from beginner to high-performance competitive athletes. They also coached at the high school level, strengthening their ability to guide athletes in structured team environments and competitive settings.

Our Mission

What Drives CITA

We provide a professional, organized, and development-focused environment where players grow both on and off the court. Through grit, discipline, commitment, and love for the process, we shape athletes prepared for competition, academics, and life beyond tennis.

Professional Environment

A structured, organized setting where athletes can focus fully on their development without distraction.

Complete Development

We develop the whole person: technical skill, physical conditioning, mental resilience, and character.

Brotherhood of Competition

Built by two brothers who understand that growth happens best in a supportive, challenging community.

Our Vision

Where We're Going

As CITA grows, our long-term vision is to evolve into a complete educational and athletic development system, where tennis is integrated with academic growth and language development.

We aim to prepare athletes for a global future by combining:

  • High-level tennis training
  • College support
  • Language development and cultural exposure

Because modern athletes are not only competitors, they are individuals navigating an international world.

Our Framework

CITA — The 3 Core Pillars

At CITA, tennis is more than just results, it's a tool to develop complete individuals. Our focus is on three pillars:

Habits

Building routines that promote discipline, consistency, and growth.

Technique

Developing proper skills and strategies for all levels of play.

Mentality

Fostering resilience, confidence, and sportsmanship.
