From a garage in Caracas, Venezuela to a professional tennis academy, the Carnevali brothers built CITA on the belief that tennis is the tool, not the end goal.
From Garage to Academy
Carnevali International Tennis Academy (CITA) was founded by two brothers who share a lifelong passion for tennis, competition, and player development. Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Ignacio and Diego Carnevali were introduced to tennis at a young age. What began as practicing in their garage quickly evolved into a competitive journey through summer camps, local tournaments, and eventually national-level competition under the Venezuelan Tennis Federation.
After relocating to the United States, both continued their development in Miami, training under international coaches, including professionals from the Madrid Tennis Academy. Their training emphasized discipline, structure, and a deep understanding of high-performance tennis.
Throughout their junior careers, both Ignacio and Diego competed in USTA tournaments and played key roles at International Studies Charter High School. Diego served as team captain and number one player, earning Athlete of the Year honors, while Ignacio later became captain and number one player, earning Rookie of the Year and multiple MVP recognitions. Together, they contributed to one of the most successful periods in the school's history, including a record-breaking regional semifinal appearance.
The Journey Continues
Following their competitive careers, both Ignacio and Diego transitioned into coaching, accumulating over five years of experience working with players of all levels, from beginner (red ball) to high-performance competitive athletes. Their experience includes organizing training programs, coaching tournament players, and traveling with athletes for competition.
In addition, Ignacio and Diego bring valuable experience coaching at the high school level, further strengthening their ability to develop players in structured team environments and competitive settings. At CITA, their mission is to create a professional, organized, and development-focused environment where players can grow not only as athletes, but as individuals.
